I have found with decorating the house, that it helps to know what you want (in my case, usually a to-the-trade piece in a glossy magazine or unknown origin on Pinterest) and then have patience to wait. And wait.
I knew what I wanted for the corner of our family room (and it certainly wasn't the mini-trampoline that was there for our sons to bounce on while watching TV). I was patient- and soon spied in a Wayfair catalog something that checked off all my requirements. Tufted club chair, blue, no wheels on legs, affordable. Come to Mama! It's certainly not ever going to be a family heirloom, but the quality is actually better than I expected for under $300.
It took a couple more months and some misses, but I eventually found a great side table. I wanted something airy with a bottom shelf for display books. The hard part was finding something that matched the chair height-wise. Sure enough, one fateful Home Goods trip led me to this guy.
I like to think of it as the "Law of Attraction" as applied to decorating.
